One of the U.S.A.’s most notoriously challenged values, and gift to the world, is its own collective passion for original innovation. Granted, it can be justly argued that traditional methods of production have endured elsewhere for centuries – with marketability of innovations easily copied at the same time – mixing old methods with new ones.
Irrespective of method, old or new, another American value is its unwillingness to be dominated by any foreign culture or foreign ideology. America has welcomed cultures in proper measure, from all over the world. Like no other country.
Anytime a foreign culture forces our engagement, attention, and collaboration with them, against her will, our adversary is stepping in to a fight. As for manufacture of goods, price is set by the seller.
The practice of societal domination, through invasion and cunning, does not serve our adversary well – as an attempted incubator for cooperation and economic collaborations. Ask most women of any culture if they agree, and they will swiftly answer you “Yes, true”. Or, to put it more clearly, they will agree with my statement, “no, it is not a conducive approach.” Such approach has negative consequence.
In global politics and economics, competing economies must not be forced by advocates to cooperate with one another like uninterested teenagers at an awkward coming-of-age ball.
At present, as to why the U.S.A. has warned China over its exertions through the expansion of its territory and other means, it is because China openly expresses a desire to “domesticate” the U.S.A. in their divergent image of what the U.S.A. ought to become. This is coupled with a down-playing of the threats and a feigning of having been unjustly insulted. This, in contrast to what the U.S.A. aimed for and has already planned for her own people to become, by her independent-of-China destiny.
China has been building political and economic investment campaigns across continents – to compete with the U.S.A. for her own global dominance. They are free to do so, within limits. The limit is clearly reached, when American’s safety is infiltrated by bio-warfare and other means. This is to say nothing about appreciation for the arts and for people of Chinese ancestry, already in our country, who are in America not to do her harm nor to exploit without giving back. Nor does it negate America’s gratitude, for any of the positive global contributions of China’s foreign policy as recognized.
Of course, China’s government desires to involve the U.S.A. However, her leaders must respect fair-competition rules, and WTO laws, not dominate their economic rivals without anticipating consequence. No genuine appreciation will be advanced, through domination, nor through flagrant disrespect for the U.S.A. – and divergent goals.
