Dear subscribers,
I’ve not yet met anyone here in the States who has said that they enjoy wearing a face-mask. This COVID-19 pandemic has demanded a lot of our freedom. Our culture is mostly not keen on hiding our faces and facial expressions – preferring to share beauty.
Nevertheless, if you live in a State like CA (as I do), face-masks are still commonplace.
Friends, I wear face masks that are cloth only. I have customized my masks to provide a great seal.
Recently, someone asked me about my mask because she noticed that hers does not fit her face, like mine does mine.
Here’s what I recommended to her… and now also to all of you!
Purchase your comfortable cotton mask from your retailer.
Next, when you are at your grocery store, just as you save, preserve, collect, and re-use your grocery store bags, save your produce wires too. You know, the wires (ties) that bind your lettuce heads etc. Yes, save those. Don’t throw them away!
If you have a rather small face (and large-bridged-nose like I do) then your face-mask might not have a good seal.
So, here’s what you do:
Step 1: gather two paper-clips
Step 2: shape a produce-bag wire around your nose, across your cheeks (horizontally), with the mid-point of the wire at your nose
Step 3: clip the shaped produce-bag wire to the interior of your face-mask (horizontally), with the paper-clips clipped vertically (one on each side of your nose)
Step 4: wear your cloth face-mask, with the clipped-shaped-wire, for better seal – no stitching required
There you go! Simple hack. Best to do, until we no longer require face masks or choose not to wear it anyway.
