Dear readers, this week marks the 19th year after the US tragedy of September 11, 2001.

We ought to take a moment of silence and prayer, to thank God for each day that we are alive. One never can be completely certain, that we will enjoy tomorrow.

Rather than re-experience the nightmare, by watching the horror that it was on any TV program, I advise to simply think back to that day if you were alive at that time.

I can hardly fathom the fact that there are many people born to this world, after 9-11, 2001, who did not experience it as a witness.

But, if you’re like me, the experiences of daily life after the tragedy were far more traumatic than the actual day that it happened.

The event is a reminder that not everyone in this world considers the United States as their friend. Our president at the time, noted that resolve was required of us. And, this resolve was an affirmation of the truth that not everyone can be our friend.

What we can do, is pray for all the people who were horrifically killed on that day… pray for their families that survived. And, pray that God have mercy on all the persons who enacted this grave horror.

If you’re like me, your initial reaction upon witnessing the tragedy was – Oh my “gosh”, how fortunate I was not one of the victims. But, upon witnessing persons jumping for windows, your heart sank, and your mind was forever altered. You realized that we are all so frail, so human. And that evil does happen.

The years thereafter were forever changed. Many of us remember that day, from time to time, like it was only yesterday – not 19 years ago.

With fortitude, we collectively overcome the nightmare; but, hopefully it reminds us to live each day with appreciation. To reach out to others and to experience joy, rather than to be ruined.

Rest in peace, all victims of America’s 9-11-2001.
