A small fracture; evidence of a huge fault line?
Why is Donald Trump still the better man vs. Mr. Cruz? Let’s have a look, shall we?
The French revolution lasted from 1789 until 1799, according to “Wikipedia” 2016. One dimension, and one reason for this revolution in European history, was the economic disparity and resentments that feudal peoples had to endure versus a self indulgent, self serving, and heavy-handed law enforcing monarchy.
Will Americans today tolerate further movement toward autocracy in our own country – in which party favors a more malleable candidate for president… instated to power… regardless of the popular voting preference among party constituents?
Let’s examine Ted Cruz on facts; a man, who craves being a leader. First of all, the founding fathers of our nation, indicated to us, the benefits to society of having a citizen president. What do I mean by “citizen president”? This means that in order to protect the balance of government power compared to that of the populous being governed and represented, (and thereby avoid situations like the French revolution from occurring in the first place) the United States benefits from having an executive in chief who is not already tainted or corrupted by government positions of power.
Mr. Cruz, if you read his biography, has worked extensively in the judiciary and in Congress. That is already 2/3 of the government! While Mr. Cruz has extensive legal background, this alone does not qualify him for understanding the pain of the people.
Friends, we need above all in 2017, an honest president. Whether you believe that Mr. Cruz is honest or not, that is for you to decide. Whether he is complicit with dirty dealings – also for you to decide. In referencing Ted Cruz, who trails Donald Trump in popularity, he is a lawyer – Princeton trained. According also to “Wikipedia”, he has “crossover” support from Libertarians. If anyone truly understands libertarian thought based on “Christian Libertarianism” however, (not to be confused with libertine philosophy), then one would understand that the virtues of Libertarianism are being falsely used as an endorsement for some Republicans. In effect, these Republicans are stealing the virtuous principles of their cross-town political party.
What we need is the free enterprise citizen candidate, who has a fire in his belly to defend all Americans, while refraining from “working the system” with legal ease to climb the political ladder all the way to the white house. Some of you might say, “Any Republican is better than a socialist”. Not exactly is that true however, when one looks at the potential for further problems and fracturing of people, who would otherwise be united to one another in strength.
To accommodate the American, in an ever increasing encroaching government, requires that the candidate respect God given rights… believing foremost that people can change, that people can rise above; that they are not predestined to Hell on Earth, or eternally. Also, that the government does not have the final say in all matters including not least of these, fair election processes.
The genuine economic needs of the people – will they be served by a candidate parading as the noble defender, sweetened as the Hispanic product of immigrant family? We can avoid all this empty sentimentality if we demand it of the RNC – in that they respect the popular majority opinion.
Contrary to Christian citizenship with Presbyterians and Catholics, a student of American law, (he who has already worked extensively in the government) he has potential strikes against him by virtue of his past paycheck receipt from government. He cannot in all honesty be sensitive to libertarian principles which are sparsely represented. Being libertarian has deep roots and connection to the Tea Party movement, as well as to the principles of what we today refer to as “anti establishment” popular election.
Mr. Cruz has worked for the Bush family. He has worked in the Senate. Has he worked for America’s poor in the Senate? Has he provided jobs for the poor by hiring minorities in hotels globally? Would he be able to speak for fair, honest and gentle capitalism? Would he recognize that “ObamaCare” is a failure that needs to be repealed? Would he recognize that poor people cannot afford “ObamaCare”? Who can free us from this disaster?
Let’s talk a bit about citizenship. Yes, America is a nation of various race and religious background. That is a good thing. And, we Americans protect (constitutionally) all Muslims’ right to worship, but not a right to join Jihad, without facing death in response. All Muslims are responsible for denouncing Jihad along with us. We should not deny that border and customs control is necessary (as war is against us within and from outside our nation). A man who has hotels around the globe, is more qualified to understand what risks exist and where, than those of us who do not operate these. We also must uphold standards; standards that reserve citizenship to those who love a principled America. According to “Wikipedia”, Ted Cruz’ father applied for Canadian citizenship in 1973… at a time where most of our immigrant parents living in America desired American citizenship. Why not Mr. Cruz’ father? This truth merits closer examination, as we examine the intent of our Republican potential candidate for president. Was his father’s application for US citizenship denied for good reason? Or, did he not desire US citizenship and not even apply – due to resentment that Cuba was under embargo from the USA?
Now let’s also address religion a bit here: Ted Cruz is a Baptist, whereas Donald Trump is a Presbyterian. Presbyterians are not only Christian, they comprise a stable branch of Christian faith that exists without fragmentation within. Contrary to this, Baptists are fractured, within their own construct. This is according to “A-Z Guide to the Catholic Faith” published by Thomas Nelson Publishers. The fracturing, exists in just one branch example… persons who do not believe in God’s grace. What that means, in simple terms, is that if you are a sinner, there is no hope for you to reform. Fundamentalism is also one aspect of the fractures in Baptism, which takes interpretation of Scriptures literally. Is that we want in America? Fundamentalism? This will not serve us well when we justify our opposition to fundamental Islamists who hard line, in the same manner, that this branch of Baptists do. Military action in defense of our virtues is perhaps justified, whereas the use of fundamentalist law as a tool against our adversaries, is both a waste of time and not the proper skill set for a more pregnant and ever-present war.
We don’t need an extension of Mr. Barack Obama’s (another lawyer) policies and strategies vs. radical Islam (in our country and abroad) that have undermined our military efforts in the last eight years, as some American military strategists have pointed out recently.
In summation, Ted Cruz is the status quo choice; and by nominating him, we risk allowing him to bring a fractured Baptist religion to American government. Conversely, who we need, is an unencumbered, honest, strong, and principled Presbyterian in the white house: One who will and can restore America and defend her on all fronts against the threats now.
In Catholicism, we have a saying (and I quote my priests, who quote the Bible): “My sheep hear my voice.”. In terms of politics, what that means, is that we spot the truth when we hear it. And, upon reading a bit more about our candidates, it becomes even more clear, who should win, and who should be sent home.
