Tributes don’t always have to be to dead people. Tributes are most appreciated by those who are still alive.

And, in that spirit, I am happy to give praises to a courageous hero who in recent months took a serious beating from 2 or 3 adult men.

My adult friend, a neighbor of my relative, was out somewhere with no apparent reason to suspect anything unsafe to happen. He’s a strong man himself, not old, in good physical and mental condition – a family man.

He encountered some bullies. These weren’t some people who could be called “bullies” simply because they had a justifiably sharp tongue. Nor, were these those who could be called “bullies” because a “snowflake” would cry. These were the bullies in the truest sense, who used fists and kicks.

My friend, intervened. He tried to break up the trouble. And, what happened? He put himself at risk and took a serious beating. And, that’s saying a lot. Because, he is tall and physically strong.

Well, as it would happen, he spent months at home – recovering from serious beating. I thank God he’s alive. I know that he thanks God too. After rest, healing, support from his family, friends, and neighbors, he is now finally able to walk more normally and he’s even decided to return to his work.

To a hero! Congratulations brother! You have overcome!
