Younger American voters: attention to our future
This week of August 10th, the contest for our future was launched as having begun. But, it actually started officially already in 2016. Will we maintain our victory at the White House and make gains in the other branches of our government; or, will the challengers win more seats?
Many of the world’s countries have an interest in the American election outcome of 2020, as they did in 2016. Through all of America’s history they have. Exaggerated claims abound; but so too, potential real threats.
It is Americans (who, with our privilege, as in any election that still requires monitoring), cast the votes.
Young adults could be the ones to tip the balance, before becoming middle aged themselves. Especially, if other voting groups are already more set in their ways. That is historically a true phenomena (or trend) to notice and heed.
A vote for Joe Biden and Ms. K. Harris, is a vote for the style and policies that are also Mr. Obama’s, Mrs. Clinton’s, and other outspoken leaders of the Democrat party – old and younger. A party that has done little more in recent years, than block bi-partisan work (with stacking of unreasonable demands and delays), blame, disrupt, object, distract, level public attacks and accusations, it sometimes seems like an outside country that wants nothing more than failure for our country every day.
Such tactics are not demonstrative of care for the nation. We cannot be captive.
Elections are decided in large part by young people, which for 2020 means that you ought to realize quickly: voting for ideals that one party touts (but won’t be able to deliver without seriously damaging the country further), is not going to give everyone great gains. That’s because real progress comes from sound policy, gains in liberty, not promises to weaken our Constitution and rights. Today, is more about voting a way so as to prevent harm from reaching our own families.
‘Coronavirus’ certainly did its damage. It continues to; but, this will be overcome.
There are always challenges, often adversity, but with a party that has its head on straight, our odds of prevailing against all challenges is all the better.
Such harm as we’ve experienced, is most often leveled against the social structure of one’s family. That is why I see the next four years as needing to remain mostly about protecting our families from the increased attacks from left-wing policies – with Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence still at the head, to our defense.
Limited government is good, but a government that is closed down by a dissenting Democrat party is too limited. It all the more cries out for a socially conservative values’ agenda, led by the right.
Looking at some statistics from two websites today, I see the huge percentage of young people who will be the ones to determine November 2020’s election outcome.
Those of you in that age group may be asking yourself “What can President Trump do for me with four more years?” The conservative answer should be “He’ll do less harm than the competition will.” And, the second answer a little more daring than that, should be, “He will continue preserving the policies that the Democrats don’t want me to prosper from.” Why don’t they? Because, if not blocked, the Republican party can take the credit it deserves. And, its actions become all the more visible – gaining in strength, credibility, and positive outcome.
Americans in these age ranges are going to determine all of our future, as they are (in my opinion): the most difficult for statisticians to certainly pin down, manipulate, and predict. Their voting patterns can seem fickle, but, the outcome depends on them to a very large extent.
This group of people, of all races and creeds in our USA, is:
Age: 20-34 – 20.72-20.9%
Age: 35-39 – 6.29%
Age: 18 and 19 – 2.73%
[combined data sources: www.infoplease.com , and, www.statisticalatlas.com .]
This comprises more than 1/4 of all voters, eligible to vote!
I plan to continue a few posts of this type in the coming weeks. It’s my part in helping people to make the best decision that they can. This is to give our nation the best possible future – and the chances to create more solid families in our country (before families become totally eroded – unable to take shape and become more strong).
