Why your local government deploying drones, would be excessive surveillance
Hi readers, it’s a time to appreciate another holiday this weekend!
Thanks to (and in remembrance of) the many heroes who have died on battlefields, we have our “Memorial Day” here in the USA; and, so much more liberty than merely means to enjoy a single special day each year of remembrance (because of their heroism).
It comes this Monday shortly after the day commemorating the Ascension of Christ Jesus – our solitary savior and God, whom we Catholics honored especially, yesterday.
So, as we enjoy this liberty, let’s not exchange it for being harassed and intimidated. Like our friends in Hong Kong, we cannot allow surveillance to steal our privacy, intrude on our rights, violate our freedom of movement, treat us with suspicion. No, our freedom needs protection; and necessitates secretiveness and guarded behaviors when required – if not always.
Contact your Representatives, Senators, State Assembly persons! This is a public service announcement.
Say “no” to drone surveillance. Keep them away from you – especially from near your home, business (your widows and residential streets), children, and parents! Home is your castle, your sanctuary, your shelter. Business is where you implement your trade secrets, where you create, where you produce, where you cater to your customers! Harassment is a disruption of business and leisure, both.
We cannot allow drones to gather intelligence and to treat us with suspicion. They may not care about you so much, but how about your neighbor? We should not tolerate intrusions on our privacy where we gather, rest, or recreate. It is quite sufficient of us already without drones in the air, to tolerate the many fixed-cameras that are mounted in locations around town.
So, as we enjoy this hard fought freedom, don’t be lazy – fight for our rights. Voice your opposition to these excessive invasions of privacy. Speak briefly and assertively to your elected persons, before any subsequent lawsuits might be required. And, well before “big brother” and “nanny” plan too big to get their hands on us.
