Sadly, we human beings have found community to one another precisely because of our sin. Because of our susceptibility to be unholy… and to fall way short of The spotless Christ, we have found likeness in one another exactly in our transgressions. But, this is changing friends. The time is drawing nearer, where the truly wicked have no community with the disciples.

The truly wicked, will not want communion with us. And Christ will do what He will do.

Friends, I’d like to talk about stealing. Stealing, is taking from someone, without giving something of “equal” value in return. Stealing does not show gratitude or thanks. It is true, that we are in times where the person who works the field, is feeding one who is not. God tells us of this day in Gospel, and it is actually His will.

We think of stealing though, in simple terms, as taking a loaf of bread from the market without paying money. And, yes, that is stealing. But, think of stealing in other terms as well. For example, you disable a person who can then not perform labor for wage. Or, you educate a person who paid college tuition, but do not provide a workplace. Or, you exploit a person’s product so that you do not have to credit the author, rather can yourself. Or, you exploit charity, so that someone who needs it more, cannot have it. Or, you exploit a person’s generosity and kindness in order to subject them to ridicule. Or, you commission someone to do work, never intending to pay them. Or, you use the law or lack of law, in order to prohibit someone from working who has a right to, so that you can pay a lower wage to someone else, or to someone who is more docile and complicit than the first.

My dear readers, I challenge you to look at theft in a different way than you might have in the past. Theft is not always about money. Theft, means taking what is not yours without gratitude and recompense. Theft is taking what is not freely given to you.
