“American populism” is not extreme: it is the will of the majority
President Trump, embracing American populism (which is a virtue by way of upholding the will of the people, and by extension a very real democracy), is a reviver of protecting the Constitution, like many other patriots with him. That is an endorsement for democracy. This boldness is confused with “fascism” by some protestors in gross error, though perhaps George Washington himself would have been viewed as such in our modern times too? Defenders of the Constitution, are reminded of the late President Ronald Reagan (as the likeness is often drawn in our country, among many of today’s constituents); yet bolder and more direct has been our and President Trump’s rhetoric. As the late President Reagan, our current president recognized (since the 1980’s at the latest), that modern day Russia should not become foe of the United States. Respected? Yes. Feared? No. Is Russia transitioning to greater democracy? We hope. It should be appreciated by all Americans, that the Russian Federation is a survivor of Communism – which was a failed system of governance in a Russia that transformed its government. Does this make Russia a nation of angels or even saints? Russia’s history, is marked by atrocities that were in ways as bad as some of the Nazi perpetrations. Some of those atrocities occurred in a Europe, during WWII, that Russia helped liberate from Nazi power. If we in the USA, are to encourage global progress among Europeans, Americans, Asians, and others… spreading the democratic spirit; and if we are to celebrate communal achievements since those days, we must remain grateful for the global contributions which began with the defeat of Nazi power. Russians (among others), are to thank for that, and we should call upon Russia to continue cooperation with the EU and the USA in preserving and promoting democracy. Particularly, as we face threats to our religion and freedoms from assaults such as Sharia Law. Sharia Law opresses women, children, and men. It violates our democratic freedoms. In the USA, it seeks to undermine our democracy, according to LCAction.org. Build we must, on that progress to oppose Communism, and not surrender to extreme secularism (on one end) and radical Islam on the other. Together, we must make the most opportunity to let Christianity not be marginalized by radical terror. Some may call my president a “fascist” out of frustration against Capitalism, their ignorance, and their fear. We need only look to our nation’s young but thriving history, to see that we are carrying on the legacy of democracy; and protecting it. For the jihadist, there is hope among Christians, that he or she will regret and feel remorse for what they do. Before, they allow death to overcome them as they teach principles rooted in evil and fictional superior beliefs, trying to enlist our women and children into evil patriarchy. They would like perhaps to demonstrate that Christian men are patriarchal though without strength, obsolete, and have no place on this Earth. We Christians call upon YOU to repent and to abandon your way. Radical Islam can be abandoned and turned away from, to instead allow you to embrace life affirming existence, rather than death. There is time for you, as you kill, behead, torture, and diminish our people. For those of us who follow Christ, we are freedom loving people. And this freedom comes from the power of God. It does not come from miltary strength, though without miltary strength, evil would even moreso destroy what is good. My fellow Christians: YOU must remember that democracy is not practiced by tolerating Sharia Law; rather it find the suitable and prevailing majority rule of the population in our country the USA. We need not regress into a “social communism”, whereby truth is disfigured. Rather, we find a joy in celebrating the values that are based not on “jihad” in which “glory killing” supposedly reserves a spot in Heaven. We find harmony in embracing our Christian truths, among a diversity that appreciates and deeply respects the virtues that protect human dignity. And, that provide us the means to guide those who are weaker and ignorant, through corrective love and support. We cannot passively live the Gospel! God loves every human being who loves Him and who loves his brothers and sisters. We need to make every attempt to understand, believe, and act upon that which pleases Him. We need to defeat opponents and opressors of our faith.
