Perhaps my most interesting analytical warning, yet.
What do Argentine lady Evita, Gene Wilder’s death and reminder of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, Catholicism, the current presidential race, the Canonization of Mother Theresa, and Clinton-gate scandal in government all have to do with each other? More than you might know. I’d like to point out the common thread. And, suggest how we have a chance to get “out of the woods”; improving life not through hard work alone, but through the practice and defense of virtues.
Author Roald Dahl – of fantasy story “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, presented a tale centered on the message of worthiness. The worthiest child in the story, was not only the last recipient of the golden ticket; but he was the one who, by and in his humility… not stepping on and over the other kids who were thoughtless and incapable of handling responsibility, deserved reward and received it.
Mother Theresa’s canonization, an honor that transcends winning a golden ticket (as we know it to be representative in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”), is for reasons of recognized virtue. Not being able to divinely perfect the condition of every impoverished person on the planet, is not what would exclude her from this honor. What does however qualify her according to the Church’s best effort, is the truth that with what she had, she gave of herself, to those who were neglected by many of the powerful and worldly. So, as not to be deceived however, we must remember that all prizes (bestowed by our fellow man) are small, compared to the eternal rewards that God gives with His power.
Catholicism, in action, requires us to die; in recognition of our death, we put on “new garments” and live in His glory… but not to appear pretty to the world, rather for union with the very one who brought us to life – Christ Jesus. Whether we are forgiven for our sin is not a mystery. But worthiness, must be the desire of all who have already been forgiven. We have a choice – whether to preserve virtue, or to reject it with peril. Saints are recognized for their willingness to comply with this perfect design. They may exhibit imperfections that draw criticism; they may even be misunderstood, but like Gene Wilder’s character in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, the master of his house chose the most worthy person, much like the Church can recognize those who do great things within.
The presidential races are an opportunity for us who live and occupy this land given to them (one of God’s many gifts to His most beloved creation) to exercise order. Not voting, is not only a display of apathy for things that do matter; but declining to, betrays the values and virtues that you have learned since you were first born. A well intentioned vote also rewards the more worthy of people, committed to serving the governed well, in ways the opponent has less shown ability to. Like Gene Wilder’s character, like the Catholic leadership, choose the worthy! Choose the one who you believe to be the more virtuous!
Politics and scandal are all too often conjoined. This is because the world is still an imperfectly governed place. While that will change when God wants it to, we must give our very best to be responsible. And, do we have a responsibility to ourselves and our children and grandchildren? The answer is yes. And, to everyone walking the earth? Most definitely. That is why, we must be so very careful about who we permit to become our president. We are not here to condemn candidates we oppose. We are however, not to ignore glaring examples of why certain persons should never have that kind of power over us. When we work to expose scandal, we have a duty to unseat those who cause scandal and jeopardy. My next post, will outline some very scandalous reasons why this duty belongs to us and how I can help you see certain truths with this upcoming election.
Now finally, we look to Argentine history. Evita: According to the website http://www.evitaperon.org (which I reference as the only source for my analysis connecting Evita’s place in history), Evita died, in Buenos Aires, on July 26, 1952.
Her family as recently as 2011, describe her (on their website) as a polarizing figure in Argentina. While I cannot copy material from this biography, I can retell aspects of it to you. I encourage you to read it for yourself later also. So, the description of being “polarizing” makes sense, as Argentina too was very polarized in the 20th Century. The family explains that in 1919, when she was a girl, conservatives in the country were not experiencing good times; because the party’s years of electoral fraud engagement, gave sudden rise to political victory for the opposition. It is thus suggested, that the conservatives brought punishment upon themselves, enabling the “rebels” if you will, to succeed. The rebels you could say are likened by me to today’s “Tea Party”.
What I find as a “take away”, is that regardless of party “right” or party “left”, electoral fraud in any country, has consequences. Violations and abuses whether in election fruad or other, in government, sometimes emerge by way of hard work and the exposition. And the electorate becomes wise to scandals. Thomas Jefferson advised the importance of inquiry and holding to account. Sometimes we succeed in preempting further abuses. And, we respond to fact suppression or persecution from those who are in power, as we always must.
This is one lesson that the historical context of Evita in Argentina gives to America, in 2016. Keep in mind that Argentina experienced war in the 1940’s – which would influence her life’s work, likely shaping her evermore into an advocate for social causes she cared about, as every good person ever did care.
In Argentina, the conservatives had been suppressing freedom of expression (according to this testimony of history).
Now in America, freedoms are incriminated by the left (including by Hillary), who has admitted to her far left agenda of persecution – by public comments and by support of the Obama regime. (The far left ruling class, dominating our government still – and progressively more, since many years).
Evita’s father, was a conservative who 11 years before 1919, had an official post. The family accounts also, that in 1926 he died in a car accident.
In 1935, Evita chose to seek acting career (the biography also describes).
Her family biographers claim that Evita felt great anger as a young girl, over the indignation that arises from injustices – one, perhaps stemming from class differences. The majority of America can identify with this pain today. The question is: Whose policy will help this situation, and whose will deepen it and do harm further?
Strangely, I’m inclined to believe, Hillary has a reverence for Evita. Like Evita, I find Hillary to be one who has her own sense of how to wage justice. Not having lived personally to know Evita, I find Hillary’s tactics unethical (a shared view). Likely seeing Evita, as a champion for justice, well into 2016 – Hillary might admire this about her. Believing that Hillary has inclination for punishing perceived gender inequality, she strangely perverts the pursuit of justice, by turning against mothers who value life of the to-be born. So too, their would-be fathers, fathers, and would-be siblings; and religious liberty as a whole (we see this with current legislative mandates, defense of abhorrence, agressive and unconstitutional judicial action). But a perversion it is! Feminists, if benevolent and righteous, really ought to embrace both rights of the to-be born and religious liberty; also including financial opportunity for women AND men, to protect virtues in both public and private life through the family.
My next post will highlight some of the truths about Hillary, that give us cause to recognize the harm she would continue to do against America as president.
Back to this biography of Evita: it is told that in Buenos Aires, when Evita began an acting career, the country experienced despair and poverty despite having been one of the world’s largest food producers. This likens to America now, which has huge numbers of people going hungry, despite our being a major food producer too. The family is under assault in every way that government has reach to. Donald Trump however, speaks of “making America great again”, is outlining how to achieve this through simple common sense action that Hillary ignores herself, and has the intent to improve all of our lives, not just those of the radical left. He has not attacked virtue! What does Hillary say? She advocates the abolishment of Constitutional freedoms, has protected policies that harass and intimidate those of us who seek to protect church teachings and influence, and goes to war against men and women with her radical left legislation. Education and health care cannot be built, however, upon scandalous governing systems and leaders with tarnished credibility.
Evita’s biography at the website, evokes feelings of class resentment and sexism, which she (Evita) harbored. In this way, I see common belief demonstrated in Hillary’s attitude – which she herself has made no secret about. Hillary intends to, and supposedly finances, “opportunity for young girls”, much in the same way that Oprah Winfrey has financed opportunity for young girls both abroad and here. But, if hostility is the impetus for egregious social engineering, then citizens cannot harvest genuine growth. The lives of men, women, and children, must all be championed for – primarily by deep respect and devotion to our Constitutional rights in America. And, that is precisely what Hillary and the left have significantly already eroded. That is undermining America today. Such continued action will fail us and betray us, if we buy into this perverse sense of justice.
We cannot permit her to make matters worse.
In Evita’s example, she found people who supported her artistic endeavors, the biography goes on to describe. She would also marry.
She later created a foundation. It was named as the “Eva Peron Foundation”, her biography goes on to describe. Isn’t it chilling and interesting, that Hillary’s foundation would be called “The Clinton Foundation”? Did Evita abuse her power by criminalizing virtues like Hillary does? Hillary’s deep collusion with the outgoing President Obama’s policies, is an abuse of power.
For a foundation to be a just extension of policy shaping, its custodian (Hillary) must be consistent in advocacy of justice FOR ALL, by respecting Catholics, Christians, and our public and private life. If she herself is wrought by scandal, involving abuse of the public trust and public good, if she opposes women and virtues, then she is undermining the very mission she claims to seek to remedy, and not through hope and prosperity.
Far better, it is, to elect the man who seeks not to destroy our Constitution. He’s not Christ the savior, but he has vowed to do as he says. He has boldly reached out to victims. And, we can hold him accountable and to his word, of improving the lives of ALL Americans as fair, best and possible. Isn’t that what we want? It most certainly should be. Is Hillary pure evil incarnate? Does she do everything purely for her own gain? I don’t believe so. And God loves her. But, we cannot have such flawed policy continue to suppress and defeat the values we hold dear. She is allied with people who seek to slowly and very aggressively dismantle religious freedom, through power of the courts and illegal activity. There can be no triumph for the rest, through selective actions at others’ casualty of justice. Socialism and Communism try to establish fairness by “making everyone the same” through overt policy; but we know this does not work.
Since Evita’s day, women have entered positions of influence in nearly every highest authority in countries that do not tolerate Socialism or Communism. Hillary, is further “left”, than perhaps Evita ever demonstrated herself to be. And, in truth, the very sisters of today’s church (who have been oppressed by Hillary’s party and politics) have done great things for the protection of women and children; by extension, advancement for nuclear families. This goes well beyond the solitary issue of woman suffrage; and does not ignore the largest of woman’s power and responsibility: to be a mother in the church hierarchy, or a lay person mother of her child.
Accepting funds to her “Foundation” from various “shady” sources is not inherently the problem with Hillary. What is the problem, is that her values are inconsistent with what she claims to conquer. And, history has shown us that her judgment and tendency to lie, are traits unsuitable for the highest secular office in the land. Socialism and Communism do not work, and giving her very best desire known, Hillary goes in that direction. That is true now, and would be true later. We must stop her, for the sake of our families, and by extension, the whole world.
In Evita’s case, the Catholic Church honored her with “The Great Cross of Isabel” in 1947 according to the biography referenced throughout this post.
Evita’s relatives state also, that women’s rights still have a way to go.
Whether your assessment may be agreed, we cannot discard Catholicism – which provides dignity and is a cornerstone for social prosperity. Without such prosperity, all else will crumble around us.
We’re not here to condemn Hillary Clinton as Catholics, nor to “burn her at the stake” for her sins, as atonement; but we are here to stop her presidency and the policies that will continue to burden if we are unwise.
