Probably so, no where quite as much here in America; and as frequently so recently.

Pod: a collection of whales (or other animals and humans) who travel in a group
Pod: a freight-type, storage-container, for storing of objects (smaller though, than a naval “shipping container”)
Pod: a high-concentration-coffee, brewing container (custom-made for a particular brewer)
Pod: a digital device (ie. ‘I-Pod’)
Pod: that which contains (ie. organic pea-pod: containing seed, fruit, “pea”)

There are likely other common uses for the word. The way I use “pod” most, is to refer to the group of cars traveling the same direction on the road, for a period of time, as I, collectively resembling whales swimming through the ocean.

How about “social distancing”?

The way that I was using this term (which I invented myself), was to refer to the conscious act of declining invitations from a person or persons – for the sake of taking care of oneself better. It is a self-care, temporary introversion, designed to clear one’s head, to do more reading, recreation, study, prayer, meditation, or whatever else might be needed and desired (to name a few activities). Throughout history, the most brilliant minds have found inspiration in relative social withdrawal or rejection. While I did not choose the degree to which it took effect, and while our pandemic increased the level, I in-part have emulated the greats of past. Yet, I am a very sociable person. So, this is not always easier for me, than it is for perhaps some few others.

Shortly thereafter, medics appropriated the term “social distancing” for themselves: in order to prescribe to all of us, protection from biological virus (pandemic or biological warfare). It was appropriate use of applicable definition in my view.

As far as I use it, “social distancing” does not require a virus to exist for its defined use however. Social distancing is also not an unhealthy withdrawal; rather, it is a required and concerted self focus on personal health needs. This activity is not needed to be physician-prescribed; and, is behavior protected by rights of the individual to find healing (by any number of means). It is in my case coupled with spiritual study. It is not equivalent to rejection of all social activity. It is (however) likewise especially useful, if one has been targeted with malice.

philosophy: 11-24-2021 post https://www.film-shorts.tv/wpress.cfonseca160/blog/2021/11/24-philosophy/ Friends, have you ever heard the word: “pod”? “Pod” has a few meanings.
