I think it’s a fine time to do so.

With so many uncertainties and upsets in our world today, the anxiety-inducing conditions can cause many of us to either become used to it and quite jaded. Or, others of us become bitter and despondent after so many defeats – over and over again. Still, others become severely depressed.

But, to avoid all of these things my friends, it is best to put all your trust in God. Yes, this includes politics. So often, we want to out our trust to a single man or woman to save us from the corruption and evil in our lives. And, yes, we should have some fair amount of faith in certain human beings – of course. I do as well. But, more importantly, we are to trust God. I think back to a song many of us were taught as children of faith. In the song, is the lyric: “He’s got the whole world in His hands”. Remember that?

And, it’s a truth – meaning it can never be nullified.

Since the beginning of time, certain gifted persons have used science as a means of predicting future events, events that impact our human affairs. While the truth is that no human being can predict everything that will happen (in all its depth and nuance) with complete perfection… some have gotten pretty close to. One such famous prognosticator is Mr. Nostradamus (long ago dead). And, so even governments seek their insights.

There are still persons today, who have gifts given to them by God, to have some extent of accurate prediction-making abilities. I share with you, that as a child, I had a few “channeled prophesy” moments. When I look back, remembering them now, they were very-likely what we would call today “predictions”. At the time, they were simply thoughts that came from somewhere beyond myself. And, I had the urge to express them.

Often, it is the case, that prophesies are affirmed (agreed upon) by multiple “channelers”. As an example, when you turn on one electrical appliance, you hear the noise from one of them. But, if you add one, two, three, four, or more, to the room, the noise compounds. If the electrical frequencies are similar, the strength of the “message” remains coherent (and stronger than if simply one person were channeling alone).

That is why most predictions that anyone has, are dismissed as simply fiction – until something comes to pass. The more likely something is to come to pass, the more diminished value your “prediction” will have though. For example, something very likely known to happen, will not be deserving of such recognition as being a profound prediction.

Human beings pursue prediction, because knowing what will happen offers some consolation and emotional preparedness. Predictions can also give a person time to effect, and change the outcome. But, my belief is that some of these things are inevitable (unchangeable). Yet, even the most accurate predictors cannot always separate an inevitability from a changeable – thus challenging the predictor, and offering doubt.

Today, the responsibility to predict anything with 100% accuracy, is far too great a responsibility. The demand for this knowledge, far exceeds the supply of it. And so predicting where to put your money (for example) is never 100% “safe”.

Unfortunately, what is possible, is to confirm even a loose prophesy. That is known as “self fulfilling prophesy”. In this, one goes out of one’s way to predict (in many case with a false prediction) to then engage in behavior and choices, which will confirm the prophesy – rather than allow nature to unfold as it will. For example, one could say that he or she predicts he or she is going to do something – and then do it. Actually, that is a “premeditation”, not a “prediction”. Though, the prediction was correct.

So, in an unpredictable world – for many, how can one find greater predictability, hence a greater sense of comfort? Many have turned, sadly, to the occult. I will site only two practices that are among such cultivation of evil: “tarot” and “ouija”.

The first, uses a deck/stack of specialized (usually paper) “cards”. People, who engage in this practice, begin with a question that they seek discovery of. Next, they follow the steps of card-use (revealing particular cards and their respective meanings), summoning dark powers to answer their question for them. Many modern-day faiths (including Catholicism) reject such practice with good reasons.

The second practice (also rejected by my faith) similarly “calls upon” dark powers to answer one’s questions. Rather than using cards, it makes use of a marked board (wood for example). The board has numbers (symbols). Following direction, the board provides answer to one’s questions.

In closing, prediction is something which is almost always elusive, and those who seek to predict, in my view exhibit huge insecurities. Not only are such practitioners afraid of future (or they seek to manipulate it – mostly unwisely so) in my view, but, they also are too willing to rely upon darkness, rather than to trust God and his goodness – with their human affairs.

https://www.film-shorts.tv/wpress.cfonseca160/blog/2021/09/15-2/ religious study: 9-15-2021 post Dear loyal readers, I have been wanting to post about this topic for a while now.
