\nDear subscribing friend: Do you ever take time to simply think about unusual circumstance?<\/p>\n
I recommend that you do. Thinking about unusual circumstances, or imagining what your life would be like if you had to endure what someone else may be, can make you appreciate your own set of circumstances.<\/p>\n
I’ve heard it said before, that “one should not judge a man or woman on appearance and assumptions”; that you must “walk some miles in their shoes, to better understand them”.<\/p>\n
Moreover, rather than always seeking to compare or compete, observe. Think about what they do. Could you do their job? Could you live their life? Could you manage to get by with what they have and do?<\/p>\n
To contemplate that, can give you a healthy perspective. To take part in a fair amount of “Schaden-Freude”, what you end up doing is appreciating that your own life is quite good even if perhaps not ideal!<\/p>\n
Here’s a circumstance for you to contemplate: What would you do, if people who depended on your money (your expenditure for their own margin of profit) wanted only to hire you. While, simultaneously, all the people in your society who have the money, were unwilling to compensate you for any of the services you were willing to offer them? That’s a pretty hard place to be, don’t you think? Sometimes, this is due to the exploit of your work for simple services that are already abundantly available by multitudes. The scope of services become devalued, as everyone becomes more accustomed to “free”. Worse, an employer sees you as expendable, because too few other people exhibit the courage to provide services that exhibit more depth and intrinsic value.<\/p>\n
I offer this contemplation, so that you can show some gratitude for having the job that you do, or for having the income that you do, or for having the talent(s) that God gave you, or the means to give of yourself to others with a joyful presence. You might replace all these (ors) with (ands). Take nothing for granted… nothing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
