Remember when we were kids in school, and we would talk about what was cool and what was not?<\/p>\n
As immature it might seem, setting up social norms is a good way to build up some etiquette, so long it’s not illogical.<\/p>\n
So, I thought I should share with you some “ins” and “outs” for Southern California.<\/p>\n
IN: spending quality time daily (and undisturbed), with your own family.
\nOUT: listening to speech from “washed up” former politicians.
\nIN: “rock and roll” music (it’s back).
\nOUT: door-to-door sales persons (solicitors); and uninvited strangers.
\nIN: ‘take out’ and food delivery, from restaurants.
\nOUT: man hating, male bashing.
\nIN: studying and acquiring knowledge.
\nOUT: making fun of disadvantaged or disabled persons.
\nIN: going to church.
\nOUT: overly cynical TV show “comedy”.
\nIN: human rights.
\nOUT: government overreach or meddling.
\nIN: law, order, and due process.
\nOUT: uncool laws and uncool ballot initiatives.
\nIN: caring well for your dog or your cat.
\nOUT: doing hard drugs.
\nIN: shopping online.
\nOUT: abusing your spouse or your kids.
\nIN: shopping retail in person.
\nOUT: calling people you don’t know, for non business purposes.
\nIN: talking to your immediate neighbors.
\nOUT: walking around in public with a tablet PC, or, on speakerphone.<\/p>\n
