Propaganda is something that all political adverts can be classified as being. If you’re like me, you consider a ton of commercial adverts (domestic) that use propaganda to sell you their product, propaganda.<\/p>\n
Restricting all ads of any kind is not the solution. But, recognizing and identifying the motives behind the message; and, those from other countries, is part of our voter responsibility.<\/p>\n
There are laws in which candidates must declare who their campaigns are being funded by. When you and I donate money to our school (or just about any organization with a mission), we’re voting for something.<\/p>\n
What can we the average voter do to ensure the most honest results? Aside from transparency efforts that are battled in our courts, we have to insist that voter rolls are cleaned.<\/p>\n
This means, voters should be required to present their ID when going to a voting centers (as one part of the solution to this problem).<\/p>\n
It also means, that states must keep their voter rolls up to date. That means, that each year, deceased names must be removed. It means that non citizen names not be on voter rolls. It means that one name (and not duplicate names for the same person) must appear only, on the rolls. It means that States not allow non citizen registrations, registrations that are fictitious or non age compliant, and it means that all States comply with Federal law.<\/p>\n
This all sounds like common sense, right? The truth is, much progress in these endeavors have been made. But the job is not complete. And there have been years of such abuse.<\/p>\n
If you want honest elections, contact legitimate organizations that defend “voting honesty” (a.k.a. “voting integrity”).<\/p>\n
We can’t stop foreign leaders from taking an interest in our elections; but, we can trace illicit campaign finance. And, we as voters, can be smart about schemes and deals that may threaten our choice. How we vote (the selection we make) is up to each of us. If foreign countries’ politicians make political ads in connection with US elections, we should be wise enough to figure out why they favor one candidate over another. And, we can take our own view and final choices to the polls. A foreign political persuasion (once exposed), can lead to the demise of their own views at the poll here in our country. Agreement, with foreign views, can help us in so far as making informed decisions… as we choose international directions we wish our country to take on the global stage.<\/p>\n
Informed voters, are smart voters. And, smart voters make our country the best it can be. Organizations that support “voting integrity” are the best defense we have in securing the honest outcome. And, that can be accomplished without censorship and other unreasonable sheltered actions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
