ISIS has been in the cross-hairs of many governments; and with good reason since they are indoctrinated to kill. So, as news breaks in the recent days in western media, that Russian leader Wladimir Putin expresses a desire to craft a coalition among nations to fight ISIS, it comes as a surprise to me, that according to more local news, my country wishes now to press him on issues related to Syria… rather than partner up with his military. I am not sure what that means-“press him”. Maybe, it is to ask, why he has not expressed willingness to fight ISIS earlier than now? I don’t know. I speculate that maybe a stance of seeming neutrality until now, on his part, has been the behavior in the absence (until now) of leading efforts to counter ISIS. But has the US been any different than he, if he were the one asking us the same question? Are we the sleeping giant too? I hope that whatever “tough questions” the United States government intends to ask Russia, those won’t interfere with any willingness among the nations to accept an able-bodied ally against terrorism – Russia. This is an opportunity not to be ignored. Whether military action can eradicate the evil that exists in ISIS members’ hearts; that is an existential question that I not answer as if I knew ISIS members would choose to be peaceful human beings all of a sudden. But, certainly, members of ISIS could be exterminated by a coalition of military partners. That is a fact, that I’m sure is being considered by global military strategists as some efforts have already been underway. I pray for them all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
