for all who feel excluded, there is hope
Zeal for Gospel, is justified and is obedience. The glory that It is, is not something to shun. As opposed to boasting of one’s own accomplishments handed down by the world, we are celebrating what has been accomplished for us all, at the cross. This joy has nowhere to go, but outward to others, and to proliferate.
For many, this joy is only found after many years of hardship and struggle. Perhaps only after afflictions. And, some may have tried to help you become humble, artificially through humiliation or through subjective punishment; particularly if you do not fit the mold of obedience to society.
Does humiliation make a man or woman humble? No. Humiliation spurns vengeance, and it defies one of the greatest commandments – to love one another. We see and hear from countless testimonies of people who have committed crimes – they don’t care about their victims. Punishment does eventually in many cases provide the desire for the punished to seek higher sources of love. But this is hardly the case, unless acts of love and support (which start in the heart) are a component of the punishment. All people need to exercise acts of love for self, but also extended beyond individuality.
So how does a person find one’s humility, in a society that encourages self praise and boasting? The answer is God. Once we individually recognize that God can take a man’s life, and once we have felt the trembling at signs of His power, by witnessing and taking Him most seriously in our weakness… we naturally grow closer to Him and crave Him daily. This can only happen if He wills it. So, if He has not called you to Him yet, be patient and not discouraged. And, ask Him every day in your prayer, that He will.
Naturally, and only then, do we find deep and genuine humility. Sadly, evil does win daily in the world. We are seeing with our very own eyes today – the coming to the surface of Satan’s same old deceptions and acts of terror; that the bouts between evil and good (that existed since the rebellion led by the flawed and fallen evil angels) are coming to the visible and physical surface of our Earth. And, because we see it, some of us think it did not exist until now. The truth is, the battle is at surface level and this means that the day many of us watch for, is approaching. When exactly, we cannot say. But, signs are here.
In seeking our own humility, we can become stronger than all of the evil that exists. In the many ways that we try to humble one another – in gross negligence and error; trying to humble one who already is humble, does not solve the world’s problems. What does solve them, is for ALL to grow genuinely closer to God through prayer and self improvement. This can be done silently and humbly – does not need shouting out with intense force. And, as the Lord’s prayer among Christians says, “…forgive us OUR trespasses…” That requires looking inward to our self, and not only accusing others! And the forgiveness extends to non-Christians as well!
And, upon persisting, and supporting self and one another, we then can begin to find strength in humility – that does not need boasting of, nor any rubber stamp of approval from any authoritarian fundamentalist holding charge over your life.
And, as this humility grows… the health of society at large improves as much as is needed to stand up against the forces of evil. Humility grows into dedication – and it makes for a less violent society, and a healthy communal spirit. A spirit it will become, that craves and returns to the religious worship and tenets of peaceful religion and peaceful religious practices.
